Ok, so yesterday i did a water change, and about 5 minutes afterwards my ricordia mushrooms(2) started spitting out this really long white mucus then shriveled up and have not come back out. I have frogspawn, bubble, zoas, candycane, acan, kenya tree, green palys, xenia, monticap, digitata(sp?), and birdsnest wich are all doing great the mushrooms are the only coral affected...I use seachem reefsalt for water changes.
s.g-1.021
amm-0
trates-0
trites-0
calc-540
K.H-24 dkh (i have no idea how to lower this)
phosphates- 1.0 (Am running phosban and no longer feed flake, still wont go down)
P.h-8.2
temp-80.3
The only thing changed to the tank is I upgraded to T5HO from PCs two weeks ago...Is there anything in my readings i should worry about, Thanks again for yalls help.

S.G. is a bit low, could move it up to around 1.025-1.026.

What kind of test kits are you using? It's almost assured that your nitrates are not zero, and your dkh is not that high. How long are you mixing water before you put it in the tank? It should mix around 12 hours or more before going in the tank.

also, couldnt figure out how to edit, its a twenty gallon bow with apx. 50 lbs of live rock, and the lights are 96w, the mushrooms are on the bottom under moderate flow, dont know if this helps.

Wow, i mix it about 5min...lol, must be a newb mistake. I use an api test kit, and how do i bump my s.g up without stressing everything out?

Yeah the KH is up there. You need to change your water out every week to get that down. Your SG is low IMHO 1.024 is better. Are you chasing a low PH with some sort of buffer that raises your alk?

nope, not chasing any problems, should i be worried about the kh, what causes it and what will make it go away...also i do weekly waterchanges.

24 dkh is WAY out of whack. I would get a 2nd opinion on your dkh test.....

I know my dKH stays high for about 2 days in freshly mixed water. I often have water mixing 3 days or more before I do a water change (nice to have the space).

you probably should worry about your KH test kit. at that high, you would have a white birdsnest, white monti cap, and white digitada. unless you are dosing heavily on KH, it can't be that high...
