RO/DI question.

I bought a 5 stage RO / DI unit (Typhoon 3) over a year ago. The cartridges are discolored but I still get a "0" reading with my TDS. Do I need to replace any of the cartridges? I know that my TDS meter is working as I tested it with tap water and do get a reading.

I wouldnt. Unless you just feel like spending money for some piece of mind. I have the same unit that you have,and have wondered that as well. Im curious to see what others have done.

As long as your TDS meter is calibrated and correct and showing zero, you should be fine. When it starts showing something other than zero its time for a replacement. Some will allow it to go to 3-5 before replacing but i change mine at 1-2. Appears to be working if it jumps up on tap water.

We have really good water in GA so it takes awhile to dirty the filters....

Always keep the prefilter clean and carbon filter in good shape.. I change these every 300gal of RO
