RO/DI replacement

My RO/DI water TDS is creeping up after a year of usage. What pieces should I replace? And where can I get these pieces reasonably? I want to get something decent (can't afford the super expensive ones but definitely will not buy anything unreliable).

BRS, Air wate and Ice, the filter guys. Buy em all if you want to be sure.

you mean buy all the 6 pieces for 6 chambers in the unit? My unit has 3 vertical chambers and 3 horizontal ones.

i just got an ro/di recently but from the small amount of research ive done it looks like you can get replacement kits that include all the filters/membranes you need at once...the ones ive seen didnt look too expensive but i may be wrong...i dont know if they include the DI unit either or if thats normally seperate...the board member i bought mine from said you should replace the DI every other time u replace the other filters

all your filters should be replaced except the membrane might last up to 3 years. should be that much......

I measured the TDS of the final water coming out of the unit. Should I measure as it comes out at different stages?

Ralph...I don't know much about how the RODI works. I assume the 3 vertical chambers are the prefilters (I believe 2 of them are carbon) and the DI resin and membrane are on the top laying horizontally. The one that has brownish beads are the DI resin, right? So how can I tell which of the other 2 chambers are the membrane or not?

You should have a small horizontal tube that is RO membrane that you can bypass to flush.
One DI (blue/brown) breads.
Usually, 2-4 carbon/ sedament filters.

Your RO membrane should last much longer than the other stages. I just replaced my 11 year old cartridge that still produced 2 TDS water. I replaced it as the output was slowing down. As long as the TDS output from your RO is still good, no need to replace it. You should replace all the pre-filters every year or so. The DI would be replaced when the output is above 0.

The membrane will last if you replace that first sediment filter every 6 months or so. If you havent I would go ahead and get all of them and then get on a schedule of changing out the sediment filter on a regular basis.

Its also according to how often and how much you use it.

And yes you can get a kit with quality filters for relitively cheap.
