Anyone keep a big reservoir of rodi outdoors? I can get a 200 gallon storage vessel relatively cheap. But I have no garage and no basement.

I would think 200 gallons would not freeze with Georgia temps. Figured I would ask here.

the outer layer of water will freeze and it would need to be vented for summer/winter. then you have a problem pollen, dust, pesticides

I would filter the vent line of course. Making it no different then the air in your house. Except it would get cold/hot.
Not many pesticides are used around my property. If they are I use a localized pesticide, I don't broadcast treat.
I guess I could build it a Shed and install a fan to cool in the summer. I am trying to get my bathroom back. My main bathroom is my rodi production/mixing room. And going with a bigger tank 15 gallon brutes aren't going to work any more. It is time to swap to a 30 gallon brute.

The idea is to put the rodi out of the house. I would get an external pump and run PVC to the area of my liking with the pump on a switched outlet to fill the brute.

It will freeze, you could heat tape???

Up in the Union we use thermostats attached to heaters. You could get a pond heater (or animal water farm heater) for about $50 that only heats the water above freezing. I would think so long as it wasn't totally open topped you could eliminate most of the pollutant issues.

You could do it like a gas station tank completely sealed with remote vent ran back in the house.

OK. Lots of good information here. Considering I have to build a stable/barn anyway. I will build a 10x10 heated/cooled room on the back of it and put the storage vessel in there. Then I don't have to remote the filters to the house I can mount them in there. And I can use the rodi waste water for the chickens and pygmy goats.

(OK let the redneck jokes fly)
