Rouge black red eye crab

I was finally able to trap this creater in a crevis in one of my base rocks ( i.e. 2 months ). :yay: That's where he will stay. I plan to use some epoxy to close the hole in the base rock. I'm going epoxy another rock to the base rock. I don't want to pull out the base rock to remove this crab. Has anyone used epoxy in their tank? Or will epoxy contaminate the water? If know one has used epoxy, does anyone have a recommendations. Thanks.:thumbs:

I use epoxy on everything! :thumbs:

I use epoxy to mount my corals with the aid of some super glue gel, and I have used it on occasion to kill problem creatures such as aptasia.

Shouldn't be an issue. The only time I've seen epoxy cause anything in a reef tank is when you use a ton of it, like three 4-5 inch tubes. It can make your skimmer over-skim a bit, but does not affect anything else like livestock.

yeah.. just use the solid epoxy that comes in the "clay like" form..

obviously, just any liquid two part epoxy shouldn't be used... (in case anyone else wasn't sure what we were talking about)

I'm glad you said that!!!! lol..lol.. I was @ home depot getting ready to buy the gorilla epoxy. lol..lol... Where can I get that locally?

You can use JB Weld water weld, or any of the stick type epoxies, as long as the package states for use with a potable water supply.
