just readied a 20G brute force trash can with ro/di water mixed in salt well of course my younger son poured juice in it when i woke up this morning what do you guys use to mix saltwater? i'm thinking i should get something that's harder to get into

I would keep the brute just use the lid with it. Cut a "Star Pattern" into the lid big enough to push the end of the cord through. Not an actual hole... if you understand what I mean by "star pattern". The lids on the brutes are usually pretty tight fitting. Not sure how persistent your son is... but this should work imo.

It does, fresh on the top and there is a pump in the one on the bottom can for mixing salt and fresh or salt gets drained from the faucet with the tube.

I also have a float valve in the top tank from the rodi filter so it's a little automated too.
Heater is in the mixing can so I can get my water to the tank temp before water change.

IThis is how I have mine setup:

Y[IMG]http://www.atlantareefclub.org/forums/[IMG]http://www.atlantareefclub.org/forums/picture.php?albumid=373&pictureid=2737" alt="" />ou can tighten the lids down so that the average kid won't be able to break into it.

This is mine. 32g brute w/lid on wheels. RoDi water fed through side where float cuts it off. At water cut off lvl, I throw in 32cups of IO salt and I let my mag9 mix it up. I have my mag 9 on a simple timer, mixes for 3 hours, then off for 3 hours. I don't worry about heating it up, I figure the pump will bring temp up to a decent lvl that I can add to my aquarium w/I much hassle.
