I have about 3" in my frag tank as well as in my fuge and about 4 1/2" in my display. They are all plumbed together in one system. The way I look at it is, the more sand bed, the more filtration. I also have live rock in my frag tank and fuge/sump. Same principle applies. I like sand and rock. :yes:
