Is there a poll or articles about this subject?. I just can not keep my water clear. It is ok in the morning but as the day goes on everything turns to alka seltzer. I have one damsel that digs up everything all the time . I recently added 3 dotty backs to help rid the tank of bristle worms but they just dig and the wormes continue to multiply. My rocks look like pink rocks in motion at feeding time. I have been stung several times now and it takes weeks before the wounds heal completely. Is there a way to get rid of them? Thinking of going clean bottom and just livestock no more live PINK rocks. Will my fish live without the rocks? I know that my Mandarin will have to go.l Bubba

i have a bb in my solana and I still have some bristle worms. I would try cutting back on feeding and maybe invest in bristle worm trap or some long tweezers

If you won't to thin out the worms sitr your sand bed then feed the tank git a 1/2 inch hose and a 5 gal bucket and suck them out its best dun at night before lights out do this every other day for no more then a week and lower feeding during off days.

If you have a sand bottom all your water will leak out? I definately would have a glass or acrylic bottom.

I have been using a trap for over a month and it is a full time job just keeping it cleaned out. Tweezers I also have but the worms are just a little faster than me. Thinking about upgrading to a 110 and sand VS GLASS is something I am seriously compemplating. I have a med. size Anthias, and several tangs...how do I cut back feeding without hurting the Anthias. How much is too much? I feed Rod's food twice a week and flakes on the other days along with Marine Snow once a week. Acans and duncan feed pellets weekly. Cut back where? Bubba

I would def cut the Marine Snow, products like that I have found will fuel algae and other unwanteds, via raising nitrate and phosphates, UNLESS you are doing heavy water changes, heavy skimming, and chemical filtration (GFO or SeaChem Purigen). But prob not the source of feeding the bristle worms.

Maybe keep feeding Rod's 2x a week and switch to pellets (much cleaner than flakes as long as you are patient and feed slowly) for the other fish. Also, keep a nori sheet available for a few hours a day for your tangs (make sure to remove!)

If your Anthias is eating pellets or flakes I would prob cut the rods completely until the bristle worms are down to an acceptable amount.

The above is just my opinion based on personal experience.

change water once a week 25 -30% RODI, bubbleblaster 2000 skimmer, run gfo and carbon and UV steri. I even clean my sump with a turkey baster....can't do much more maintenance without a divorce pending. Just ordered three more traps and will start cutting feedings immediately. Thanks for the replys, Bubba
