How much light can a satosa handle without looking like crap.

I bought a supposedly red satosa and want to put it in a high light area.

Thanks Joe

Actually, not knowing what you guys were talking about I googled Setosa, and found only red ones.

Semantics- to me, the ones they call "red" are orange. To me, "red" is crimson. Orange is orange.

Joe, mine seems to be doing well and growing in the 400-500 par range. 250w phoenix bulbs and decent flow. Light red/orange color. haha

How would you know, frag murderer?

I got my info from Jeremy, so if it's incorrect, crucify the sasquatch and have meat for a year. haha

You could make some pretty cool wigs as well.

Thanks for the info guys. A friend placed an order and I tagged along and bought a so called red one. It does not really look orange but not red ether. Only time will tell what it will turn out to be.

Hey Joe,
I don't think that is the same coral that everyone is referring to. Monitpora Setosa looks nothing like that. You've seen mine, which looks pretty typical, mostly orange. I've never seen a red one.

That "Satosa" you linked to is awsome looking, but has a very high polyp density, it looks like. Nice find.

10 to 1 that pics been doctored some. Mine is about half way down and looks the same as the one Jeremy posted. If that other one is truely that red . I'll give a c note for a frag of that.

It is not red but defiantly not the color of the normal setosa. I will have to give it a few weeks to see what color it will be for me. :)
