Anyone thought of taking an old Seaclone and using it as a fuge? I was just staring at all the unused equipment I was cleaning out and I found a seaclone I got and never used. I can't find the collection cup so I was about to throw it away but then I got some ideas kicking around in my head. The only problem I can see is the small tube in the center. If I just throw in some small live rock rubble in it some cheato I think it might work. I hate to throw away something that might be useful.

No, but I was considering turning one into a phyto-reactor for my tank.

The water in a fuge needs to move fairly slowly to get all the benefits. The SC would move the water too fast to be any good.

What flow rate is optimal? For example, I just built and added a 6 gallon refugium to my system, and I think the flow through it is too high (probably around 120 gph). Is there any research out there that specifies a particular flow rate per refugium size?
