Hello, folks. I have a 180 g acrylic that I need drilled and overflows installed. I am also looking to hire someone to handle all the plumbing work, as I don't quite trust myself to not make a mistake and regret it.

I will have the gear; sump/refugium, air pumps, skimmer, etc., I am just needing help with the drilling and plumbing. I inquired at the LFS and they were nice, but didn't seem too comfortable drilling a tank that was not theirs or plumbing to gear that was not theirs, either. They gave me an estimate of 6 hrs work which seemed a little longer than I thought would be needed, and didn't know if this time was tacked on b/c they would rather setup and service their own tanks.

I am in Marietta would gladly take recommendations from experienced aquarists who have dealt with a local aquarium service and been very happy with the results.

After help with the initial setup, I am good as I like to handle that stuff myself; just drilling, installing overflows, and plumbing all the gear.

Thanks for any help,

Kevin

thanks for the reply. I guess that's normal, then. Not having done this myself, I wasn't sure. Appreciate it,

+1 6 hours is a fair time. I sent about 3 hours helping friend do his plumping and it was just a frag tank.

You said your tank is acrylic. Those are easy to drill. I've drilled all my acrylic tanks myself with no ill effects. Depending on when you want to do this, I may be able to stop by and give you a hand.

Also, what kind of overflow is it? Is it a HOB or inside overflow that needs to be installed?

Thanks for the response. I was initially thinking inside with a "castle" in each back corner, but am open for recommendations. My only other sw setup was a glass 90g with a hob overflow, so I have a lot to learn. Appreciate it,

Kevin

Inside is good, Do you already have the overflow boxes made or is that something you need to get?

still something I need to get. I was waiting to discuss options with whoever I had drill and install the overflow. I am definitely open to various overflow positionings and setups, just want it to work well.

I got a couple pm's recommending some good experiences with installers. I appreciate it, everyone.
