On Wednesday this week I bought 2 golden head sleeper gobies -- beautiful and fun to watch. I think one was male the other female.

I put some egg crate on the top to allow for more heat transfer -- and as those playful little guys swam in the current -- the female jumped out -- how we don't know. I was at work and my wife was running an errand. She came home and found the female dried up. The male seems lonely and not nearly as playful. I'm getting him a new mate today!

I realize this doesn't help anyone at all (but me) it's my first loss and I've been down about it.

Thanks for reading.

I think they were already paired. If you get another, they might fight actually.

Egg crate wont work. They'll get through it like it wasnt there. And they wont get back in. There are a number of horror stories about this.

FWIW, sleeper gobies are notorious jumpers.
