Should I QT?

So after doing a water change last night and some algae picking and scrubbing this morning, I realized I haven't seen my Mandarin Goby in a few days. After searching all over the tank I've come to the conclusion that he must've passed.

In my mourning, my fiancé offered to buy me a snowflake eel as I've been eyeing one for a while but held back for fear of the safety of the mandarin.

My question is, should I QT the snowflake? I never really heard of eels having ich but I'm not willing to risk losing any fish for an avoidable issue.

Thanks for any input guys

Always QT. there more out there than ich that can clear out your livestock. You also want to make sure you have a good feeding schedule that the new fish can adapt to.

trust me and most of the rest of us. use a qt. ive learned the hard way that you can end up with a lot worse problems than ich.
