My Yasha Goby started floating tail first and swimming in circles last night. I isolated him and he's still trying to swim 24 hours later. My assumption is it's his swim bladder due to an elavated tail. Parisite maybe? He has a white string hanging out his butt. I realize he's probably not going to make it, confirmed by a few other folks on here but I thought I would post it to see if someone might have some advice.

Going to try some prazipro tomorrow.

I was hoping for some advice or suggestions...didn't know if it is a parasite.

I recommend you PM or post here for JennM. She is very helpful when it comes to fish that are sick. You may want to post a picture if possible. The picture may be helpful to diagnosis your current situation. You may already have good advice in the previous post.

I hope your situation turns better very, very soon.

Thank you. I talked to jenn and she suggests prazipro or metro/focus. I got him in a hospital tank with prazi. He's holding on, somehow...
He has not eaten today so I doubt he will make it much longer.

I am seriously thinking about future treatments to prevent this from happening again. It's very frustrating, so many people have a different opinions on treatments. Not sure what regimen is best.

I'm not an expert or even close to it with fish disease. I've seen some great advice from JennM. I truly believe that a UV sterilizer is helpful with cutting down on fish disease. You will see both, positive and negative feedback on UV sterilizers.

A UV sterilizer is on my wish list. I'm not sure if you have one, but you may want to do some research to see if one may help you in the future. I've read that there are only a few good ones on the market, so do your research. I'm not sure if a UV sterilizer would have prevented your current situation, but regardless: I hope your current situation turns into a positive outcome.

I really appreciate the helpful advice.
I have a UV and as soon as I get a new bulb, I'll have it online. I have been battling whether I want it or not but as with most things, there are pros and cons...

I just moved the 40w emperor over to the 210. I now have the lifeguard and the emperor on the 210. 80watts should do the job. I think UVs help a ton.
