Here's a photo of my son's chocolate mimic tang. We've had him for a couple of weeks. He doesn't like humans so this is the best shot I could get.

Anyway, he has what look like thin spots on his top and bottom fins. Like they are almost see-through. And he has a dark spot near his head and a light spot.

I ahve treated the tank with Prazipro.

Any ideas?

He was eating pellets when I bagged him up for you right? I can't seem to remember... Is he eating Nori?

Try adding some vitamins like selcon to his nori when you feed him. Turn the lights off too to relieve his stress a little

The seaweed clip scares him. Seriously. He does eat but not with as much enthusiasm as the other tank inhabitants. Formula 2 pellets and frozen. People scare him too.

I got another shot of him. Stress? Poor diet? We use Ocean Nutrition Green Marine Algae. Although it does dissappear I never see him eat it but again, he is afraid of people. It could just eventually break away from the clip. Don't know.

Rubberband some around a rock and put it near his home. Then scream "go to your home!"

Ok, I'll do it quick before anyone else is here. Don't want anyone thinking I've gone off the deep end!! But seriously, it's a diet thing?

It contributes to it. Adding some vitamins and garlic to entice him to it will help, but he needs to be comfortable. Putting the food closer to him and turning the lights off will help do so.

I've seen that blotching thing before. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but I hate to say - they don't usually bounce back from it. :(

The advice given is good - feed him well, boost his immune system and he might beat it.

Try to have a good look at his eyes - if they are clear, good. If they are cloudy, not good - although if you treated with PraziPro, that would rule out trematodes (I've seen trematodes accompany this condition before).

make sure you dose a few drops of Selcon in his food daily, especially his Nori sheets. Selcon & Seaweed. If he's not eating seaweed, dose food with Selcon.

I have Zoecon... by Kent. It's a combination of Selcon and Zoe which is their Spirulina algae supplement. Stinky, but good.
