Alright, I feel like an idiot, but is GE Silicone II okay for aquariums? Conflicting info all over the internet, and the website seems to imply that the only difference is in the curing.

I think that the GE silicone II that is sold NOW (new) has the mold inhibitor in it.. (in which case, no)....

I believe that GE Silicone I (doesn't say bathroom, says windows/doors/etc) is the silicone that doesn't have the mold inhibitor..

Honestly.. with as many places that stock AGA Silicone, why risk it... ?

just get the silicone that's made for the job..

Windows and doors  Kitchen and bath:yuk:

Type I dries quicker and has a stronger bond, Type II is formulated so that it does not release Acetic acid during curing. They are both 100% silicone and are fine with the exception of Kitchen and bath which have mold blockers.

^^ he's built an aquarium before... I bet he knows what he's talking about..

Type II is not good, I believe Type I is fine, but so is the DAP stuff in the green package.
