So I didn't rinse my new sand well enough, and so I've had a silt storm going on for 24 hours so far. It is slowly getting better, but as it settles on my rock, I've got to blow it off and it just clouds up again. I've got my powerheads turned off and am only running my main pump. Is it worth trying to catch the silt particles with a filter sock or something? I've also got an old canister filter I could put on it, but I don't think I have any media that will catch the silt particles. I'm sure over time it will settle down, but it is killing me waiting to see the tank with the sand in it.

You're always going to have some swirling around. Use a filter sock and run a filter with just pads to help catch it. If it's a lot, run that for a few days, and carefully blow the silt off the rocks with a turkey baster to get it up and out of the tank.
