i've finally broke my skimmer in and skimming good. i fed corals yesterday and collapsed the bubbles and it hasn't been thick since. it was a little better today but then i have my Apex turn the skimmer off when the feeder comes on and its been low since. maybe try leaving the skimmer on during feeding?

It will come back some longer than others, and depending on the food. For some reason when i feed flake it takes about an hour longer to comeback, then when I feed with frozen.

I don't turn mine off really ever except to empty and clean.

thanks. it never really happened before, i have an autofeeder so it feeds flakes and pellets every day. yesterday i tossed in a pinch of freeze dried cyclop-eeze. i think that's what did it.

Yeah skimmers can be very sensitive sometimes to so many things. Just let it run it will muck up soon enough!

I always leave the skimmer on during feeding, and the bubble line drops when I feed. It comes back up in a few hours. The oils in the food hit the surface of the water, get into the skimmer and coat it for a bit until it washes off.
