I have been messing around with 2 different skimmers:

1. A Beckett knock-off (first picture)

2. Pacific Coast PC-400 (second picture)

I have tried both using normal configurations. I recently switched ot the PS-400 and added a NW impellar to the Rio 2100. The results are quite dissappointing. I have been doing some research and MRC has a version of their beckett that is recirculated (picture 3). I am going to modify my beckett knock-off and recirculate it. Hopefully this mod will finally reach the optimum skimming I can do without buying a $1K skimmer (that ain't going to happen)! I'll post up pictures of the build over the holidays! Thanks for looking!

I haven't really found anyone that has posted good directions so I think I am just going to give it a go. Not a difficult task, just need to find a 2 1" quick bulkheads(forgot the name) and drill 2 holes. Is yours external or in the sump Trinh?

Mark, do you have a better picture of the first skimmer? It appears from the pic that it's a venturi and not a beckett. That could make a big difference. I have a beckett assembly available if you want to try it.

Mike..I think you are right. I'd like to try out the beckett assembly if I can borrow it. Are you looking to sell?
