Skimmer funk spilled over into tank

So I pulled a bonehead move today and forgot to turn my return pump back on after feeding the tank with Dt's. The pump was off for about 2 hours which was enough time for my skimmer to go awol and fill up with water. The collection cup was about half full of crap from the tank before emptying back into the sump. I changed the carbon and plan on doing a water change tomorrow. Anything else I can do to prevent something happening? What could happen due to this spill?

Looks like you guys are right. My skimmer has already pulled out almost as much as was spilled. Now I just need to smell to clear out.

Happens every now and then, and usually doesn't affect anything but the smell in the room.
