Skimmer help ?

Ok so I have a skimmer that needs a stand to sit on while placed into the sump. The only thing I had at the house was egg crate. The problem is that the vibration from the skimmer runs through it. Does anyone have the same problem? If so how did you fix the problem?

I had a couple old koozies sitting around that are similar to mouse pad material. I cut them in half and surround my skimmer with them. It really help out a lot.

Pond liner. There are chemicals in some mouse pads that are no bueno. ReRead it on rd and r2r.

Yeah... becareful of that mouse pad idea. There was a member who did it and nuked his tank, I think that there was a flame retardant added to the mouse pad that was the culprit.

Home Depot carries little rubber feet that you could glue on. I'd clean any adhesive off with some rubbing alcohol first.

All very great ideas. Lol. I never thought about HD selling rubber feet. What department did you find them in?

I'd use the little rubber feet that Home Depot carries, remove any adhesive with rubbing alcohol first. Glue 'em on.

About 3/4 of the way down that one isle next to that other one. ;-)

Just kidding. In my store it is on the same isle as specialty nuts and bolts. The lump all of the cabinet stuff together. I think that their real purpose is to stop cabinet doors from slamming.

Oh and for April Fools you can put them on the kids when they are sleeping and when they wake up say that they are coming down with zoa pox! Bwhahahaha

I used a tupperware container, drilled some holes in the sides and turned it upside-down.

Egg crate works well if you have spare laying around. Stack it to get the right height

What type of overflow are you using? Probably the only question I didn't ask you while I was over there!
