Skimmer questions

I just ordered a new Euro-reef RS-100 for my 65 with medium bio-load with the thought being that when I outgrow the 65 and upgrade to a larger tank I can keep the costs down by taking the skimmer along.

My concern is that it may be to much skimmer for the 65? I have read a couple times that to large a skimmer will not be as effective as a properly sized one for your tank.

Any thoughts?

That's essentially the same size skimmer I have on my 72 bowfront. IMO, you're fine- I don't think the size of a skimmer has much to do with it's effeciency.

BTW, I even did a mesh mod on my needlewheel, and I still don't think it's overkill. The larger pump did add a little more heat to my system, though.

This is an arguement waiting to happen, but you can't really have too big of a skimmer. However, you can certainly waste a lot of money on electricity powering a monster skimmer on a small tank. You aren't in any danger of that in this case IMO.
