Skimmer recommendations?

I am currently looking at an avast cs1 it looks like best bang for buck. Any other thoughts. This one works out to be about $260 with pump

Need more details such as total water volume....what kind of bio load do you plan to keep and of what mix?

About 110 gal total volume. it is going to be a mixed reef with a bit of everything. Space is limited in my sump. So sump saving designs are a plus

If space is a concern then I would recommend this for a middle tier:

I used to have an xp-2000int and just sold my other bubble blaster 2000 to another member. I was wanting to try something different. Seems like the avast is pretty well priced. Especially considering it is recirculating.. Granted I would have to put it together

The vertex omega skimmers are pretty good. Can be touchy getting dialed in and to the right height, but a pretty consistent skim after that. Only sold mine because I wanted more room in the sump / internal pump.

I'm running that mini 160 now and it's my favorite so far. About the same total water volume as you. It's hardly small though... amazed at how big it was when I got it. I saw Tri's mini 200 and it's an absolute monster. Surprised they call it mini lol

The BK Mini 200 is amazing...best skimmer I've ever ran. For the money, the Avast looks pretty good. The Sicce 1000 is supposed to be a huge upgrade from what they use to be....garbage, lol. Give it a try and let us know how it goes!

The RO 110 has a space saver model with a smaller footprint if needed.

I ended up purchasing the avast cs1, I really like the fact that it is recirculating, I wont have to deal with water level. We will see how assembly goes
