About to get a 90g for a reef. I need affordable skimmer options. Maybe the decent ones that are currently listed for sale here or on CL. I'm planning to get a 2000gph pump or so and plumb a manifold to run future equipment from. Can I run a skimmer like that? I'll probably be starting with a standard 20g sump.

I'd go with a reef octopus 110 or if you're planning on a heavy bioload got with a 150, but the 110 would suffice

I've ran a 110 on a 110 tank and it worked flawlessly. BRS recommends it up to 120 for light load and 60 heavy load. In fact I'm still running that skimmer on my 93 cube.

If you want something bigger I'll have a SWC 180 for sale soon

If you are limited on space in sump, you can go with a recirculating skimmer. DNWB reef Oct. feed it off your manifold. But I know of no skimmer that can "run" from your manifold.

Looks like a decent deal?
