I currently have a coralife 125. I am not to happy with it. Was wondering what a good skimmer would be for a 72 gallon reef. Thank you in advance.

look at eshopps psk-100 or psk-200. More affordable than the above mentioned and IMO just as good or almost, I have a psk-300 on my 125 and i have never been happier a skimmer.

John, reef octopus is usually most bang for buck. I have a recirculating dnwb-110 that I need to sell if you can fit it

+1.

BK if you have the dime. you'll never look back. I haven't

just my OPINION mind you...

Oh and make sure u have room. Would be bad if it came and doesn't fit in the space.

I just picked up a deltec mce300 (thanks Chris) yesterday. Dead quiet, zero micro bubbles. It was pulling skimmate within 2 hours. My water has never looked better, My 2cent.

I use the MRC. It works great, I don't think anything will out perform it but it does need a powerful pump.

I like the feature that the collection cup is sealed other than the drain. This allows me to put the hose from the drain a few inches from the bottom of the waste bucket. When the waste gets above the hose the added air pressure causes it to slow down/stop skimming and not overflow the waste bucket and preventing a lot of freshwater addition.

Another slight drawback is that the Beckett must be cleaned periodically.
