Snails and Hermit Crabs

okay here we go again,

This maybe weird, but, I can keep snails in my display tank...the hermit crabs live for about 3 to 4 days then go to crab heaven...whats up with that? I am also the guy who gets crazy nirate readings...i bought a new nirate test kit just the other day and I still get off the charts readings and when i take the same water to the lfs they get an almost zero reading? I don't know. no one is showing any stress. Thanks mike:shades:

I dont think red/blue hermits are sensitive to nitrite/nitrate. IME with a FOWLR I used to have they outlived everything, even when I lost them in a bucket a couple times they survived for a couple days with no flow or heater
