Snowflake eel

Picked up an XL snowflake eel from SEA today. Prolly about 15-17ish inches if I had to guess.. .

Ive done *most* of my research on care and maintenance of a snowflake and also asked all the questions i could think of, the only thing im not finding a lot of info on now that I'm home and I forgot to ask while there is how long they will hide once introduced to a new tank?.. I'm asking so that I can go looking for him after a day or 2 if needed but don't want to disturb the tank too soon if its common for them to hide for a week
