At my lfs here in chattanooga because the 2nd flameback angel ive gotten from them has died from flukes..the other one that they got in is also showing symptoms of fluke..im relatively new to the saltwater side of the hobby but have dealt with flukes in freshwater throughout my 20+yrs in the hobby and have only lost a handful of fish at the beginning..i was unaware that it also affected saltwater so i never thought about that until today and checked..while i pointed out that the other angel they had also had signs of fluke(from the rapid breathing and a large patch of discolored scales near the gills)..they tried to argue and say it wasnt fluke and that fluke doesnt do that..my question is: is a patch of discolored scales of symptom of fluke??

It could be a few things. Did the store tell you what they thought was wrong or did they just say that it was not flukes?

One sure way to find out is to dip the fish. Flukes can be pretty hard to see visually and can be confused with other problems.

i also mentioned that..they ignored it and said you can ALWAYS see flukes..they in turn ignored me and turned their back until i left..pretty sure ill just be making trips to atlanta now for livestock and frags..i need to join the club!!
