Mesh modded the skimmer
Made a clear mesh top:

Very cool. I built a 'frag mag' thing out of egg crate and an old glass cleaner. I might post pics later tonight.

I also just put some of the finishing touches on my ATO/kalk system last night. I am using a medical dosing pump to put 225ml/hr of Ro water into a DIY kalk ractor. Then it moves up and into the skimmer output for mixing/dispersion. I have been testing for a couple weeks, and so far my evap is in check, PH is ~8.3, alk 10dkh, calcium is 400. Best of all, it is almost fully automated. Just a few more tweaks.

Are you keeping the glass top on?

No, just open top. I don't have any wrasses, so hopefully no jumpers. I do like the clear mesh idea, though.

Oh, cool, you added some stuff. Nice job. I think I will have to post my mods so we compare. What type of ATO did you go with? I have a JBJ.

Are you dosing to maintain calc/alk?

Yeah, right before I submitted the thread, I deleted all but the frag mag pics. I bet you were thinking, "wow, sweet mod." :lol2: I plan on adding a few more wrasse so I need the cover. I have a JBJ ATO as well. I used a container from Target that holds a ton of water. How the skimmer doing for you. Mine's great, but the water level changes too much in the back chamber, even with the ATO. I think it has to do with the overflow sponges. If I can figure out a way to remove them and prevent the splashing noise, I will.
