I am going to check out a 180g RR tank. This is a used tank, and I want to be sure I know what to look or lookout for when inspecting one before making the purchase.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

1. that it holds water

2. make sure the silicone looks good.

3. Scratches on the glass....a used tank is going to have them but big ones are annoying.

Check the bulk heads, well undo them to see if where it was drilled that it is not cracked...when people take tanks down some are careless and snatch stuff off the bulkhead fittings and crack it

The reason I said that is b/c I have done it twice and know other people that have also done it....dosen't take much pull or push on them bulkheads to crack the bottom and that is the absolute worse place to crack one (not that there is a such thing as a good place to crack a tank)

Ok, so does $625.00-650.00 with tank and stand sound like a fair price if all is in good condition?

Not bad...especially if it has a sweet canopy. If you are not in a hurry...better deals come around.

Dont forget...this is just the entry point $$$.
The real dough is spent on equipment to breath life into a tank of this size.

Enjoy!

No, it doesnt have a canopy.. The equipment I will just transfer from my 125g. The skimmer I have is rated for 300g. Will prolly get a better return pump though.

I would like to get something in the next month or 2, but I rarely see any 180's for sale.

This one is kind of interesting. ASKING $600.00 probably take $500.00...or less.

I find that when you get out of metro Atlanta...you can find better deals on used equipment and more motivated sellers.

Worth inquiring about

Make sure the stand is tall enough for your skimmer and other equipment
