I have had this Springer's dotty for about 3 months now and just noticed this morning that about half of her body has turned grey. The tail end is still black, but the head and trunk are grey with the blue stripes. She has gotten quite plump (possibly carrying eggs?) and also started hiding quite a bit more - did not feed this morning. She also seems to be hanging out with my new cherub angel quite a bit. Wittenrich says females turn grey in the presence of a male. Could the cherub's blue color trick her into thinking ...? No, it can't be.
Does any explanation come to mind?
