Moved houses. My mother now lives in my old house so my tank is still at her house until I set up the new tank at the new house. So I do maintenance in a hurry most of the time. Did a quick water change and thought the salt was fully mixed but it wasn’t.

Burned my large orange monti and another large green SPS colony(don’t know what kind) got burned pretty bad. Some parts of the base are completely bleached.

The orange monti looks fine for the most part, probably 15% bleached. The other has about 55% bleached, the rest of it looks great with polyps extending still. Can I do anything to help it recover or just a waiting game with good water parameters?

To be honest, I don’t even test anymore. Lol I have a schedule for dosing and run water changes at 1.025. Tank has been set up for about 2 years and my SPS has seen tremendous growth during that period. I should test but I don’t add any new livestock and I’ve seen substantial growth rates in all my SPS. My frags have turned into large colonies and I have no room for new corals.

This is was a rare occasion when I didn’t notice that all of the salt had not dissolved. I was also using a white bucket instead of my typical orange so I couldn’t see it that well.

Also, I watched the salt fall onto the monti and green SPS colony. Then they bleached.
