I am still new to SPS so I am trying to learn a little more, but was wondering if anyone had and good links to sites that give care recommendations to certain species.

In particular, I'm trying to get my validia to color back up, and am unsure of lighting for it. It browned out, but I have been told they actually have a lower light requirement than some sps. It seems to be the only one I am having brown issues with, and is currently at the top in the frag rack receiving lots of wholesome sunshine.

Also trying to figure out effect of flow/lack thereof on color? My flow is a little low until I get the tunzes hooked up.

brown out is usually caused by one of 2 things.

1. high nutrients
what are your nitrates?
what are your phosphates? phosphates should be below 0.03 and the only way to know that is with a kit that measures that low. D-D Merck, Hach, or colormeter. (maybe Elos)

2. Too much light (it would take a lot of light, though)

there a few good books out there, too. Eric Bornemans "Aquarium Corals" among others.

Nitrates are zero as per API test. Phos I dunno, but I am running a little fishes phos reactor with Phosban on my 34 solana. Should be pretty darn low, as I also only use 0 TDS RODI water. I just got the phos reactor going a month or so ago, so maybe not enogh time, but I do have one other acro coloring up, so i was hoping the validia would show some results as well.

Thanks a lot for the links. Now for some reading...

FYI: depending on how much phosphate has saturated your sand, live rock, etc, your GFO might be getting saturated very quickly. You might have to change it out every 1 or 2 weeks at first.

as for flow:
