After waiting what felt like an eternity to receive my new SRO, it arrived today...broken.
Trying to decide if I should make the fix, or if I should go through the hassle of an online return.
Below are some pictures.
Is this something I can PERMANENTLY fix without jeopardizing the integrity and efficiency of the unit?
Any suggestion/help is greatly appreciated.

Send it back. You paid for a new skimmer, and you should get it.

All the skimmer warranty issues I have had have been with the pumps.

+1 Definitely send it back. The cylinder in the chamber should not be cloudy like that. They may have sent you a used one. Good luck.

Edit: If for some reason you cannot or will not send it back. Weld-On #16 is going to be your friend here. Again good luck.

Send it back, if your that concerned with them making things right send them a picture of it and demand a full refund and buy elsewhere

Unfortunately this is a design flaw with those skimmers. I ran various Octopus skimmers through out the years and a few of them broke on me at that same area. It's just cheaper equipment....great skimmers, don't get me wrong. While you could fix that with some weld-on, just call and send back. If it did take a long time for you to get the skimmer, make sure the cs person knows that and tell them you hope it doesnt happen again. Good luck!

Return to online vendor. Ask for full refund. Go buy it from a sponsor.

When shopping around for calcium reactors, I called a few sponsors and shopped for prices online. I DID find it about $15 cheaper online and was JUST ABOUT TO BUY it, but then decided that I was going to give some love to a sponsor instead. I wet to SEA and bought it from them. When I got home and was assembling, I over tightened the micro gate valve and broke it. It's not exactly a piece that can be found at a local hardware store. I called Jeremy and he said "come on back, I got ya". My wife was in the area, she swung by and picked up the part, and I had the reactor running that day...

If that same scenario had happened to me from and online vendor, I'd have been waiting longer.

I'm thinking that the OP meant "new" to him. It doesn't look like a new skimmer. That looks like a re-broken repair to me.

Yeah, I guess it would be better if I put on my glasses before looking at tiny pictures on cell phones!!! Lol

I still stand by my word. Buying new from a reputable dealer gets you a warranty and good service. If this was purchased used from someone, good luck. Might wanna buy some weld on.

Well I can see from those pictures that it looks used.
Its definitely a brand new skimmer. The crap in the body is busted up Styrofoam. The damage obviously happened during shipment.
Unfortunately, the cs was absolutely atrocious so Im a little hesitant to send it back.
I've sent some pictures already, to which my cs rep replied "Did you pick it up by the elbow? That tends to happen if you lift the skimmer by the elbow"...
I wanted to reach through the phone and slap him
