SRO 3000 vs MR2,which one to choose?

I have the 170. It's set and forget. I have never owned an MRC, but I know that the venturi needs regular cleanings. I empty my cup once a week and clean the pump, ect every few months, at best.

I had the same exact thread question a couple years back. From input I got on the forum I got the SRO3000. The MR2 is more work but it's also more performance. Take the good with the bad I guess. I have since sold my SRO and run an MRC PRO needle wheel skimmer. Day and night difference.

I know the SRO couldn't handle my 200g total system. I know of several people that have run MR2's on systems much bigger than mine with great success.
Gnashty might have some good input for you. He ran both on his tank.

I do love my Pro I though. MRC pure performance with set and forget maintenance. I went several months without ever seeing SPS polyp extension with the SRO. I do feed heavy. Now my millis look like Tommy Chong.

My MR2 was a beast but needed more attention than a needle wheel and was a bit louder. The SRO was less needy but still only really performed when cleaned regularly.

I have the SRO5000 with about 250 gallons of actual water. I would say I feed medium level and have good polyp extension. Very little maintenance-set and forget.
