Heh yeah, it is pretty crazy the goo it's pulling. I wish I didn't overflow the cup when getting the SCFH...hard to tell what it's actually pulled....the foam is a good indicator it's doing it's job though

Great skimmer choice. The BB pumps are high quality. Do you have a thread with pics of your setup?

They are amazing! It's funny when they first came out people were basing them...funny how all the bashing has faded away once people realized how great these pumps really are! I don't have anything recent, but I;ll get something together soon.

I put a BB HY-2000 on my Octo Extreme 160 and the thing is a beast now that's reliable.

Have you checked to see what wattage the BB draws? My Vertex cone states a draw of 38 watts, but didn't realize that it is actually higher when it is pulling air, and that the initial wattage rating is when it is just pumping water.

They say the BB5000 runs at 50W, but the pump body says 60W. I have no idea what it's running at, I def need to get a kill-a-watt to see....that's next on my buy now list I'll order one this week and let you know once I get some results.
