stain curing?

I recently got a canopy built for my solana and it still has a pretty strong stain smell. My concern is that the skimmer will draw air trapped within the canopy, potentially pumping the stain laden air into the water. Should I be concerned? Should I let it "cure"?

generally 24 hours. If it really bothers you, and/or you want a smoother, cleaner finish you can coat with one coat of sanding sealer.

The lacquer smell will be there another week or so and the other odor is linseed oil in the stain probably enough vent out the back but I don't think it will harm any thing as it is just an odor. The fumes from the lacquer evaporate almost immediatly I actually use a retarder to slow the drying process down. It has been in my truck almost a week
