But in reading up more on them, I've found out that they eat up all micro fauna in the sand until they clear it all out and then die from starvation.
Has anyone been able to keep one for long term (over a year)? Or should I return the guy to LFS?
I have had mine two or so years no started him off for a year in my 55 gal, then when my 125 was finally set up and running i moved him over there with the sand from my 55 never have had a problem with him very healthy starfish.
