I know that Harlequin shrimp will eat stars, but what about crabs? Are starfish generally safe around hermits & emeralds?

my chocolate chip starfish hasnt bothered any of my hermits or peppermint shrimp...

Edit: EDIT: Just re-read what u posted...neither have bothered each other

There are certain stars, like choco chips, that will eat your coral. Some people say that green brittles will tear a reef apart. I've known some people that had green brittles eat everything in a tank. Fish, coral, shrimp, and crabs all started vanishing overnight until there was only one thing left.... A HUGE green brittle.

While large brittles may be predatory, I have a hard time believing that it ate corals.

there are "reef safe" brittles & stars, and "non-reef safe" brittles & stars.

Yep, I know there are non-reef-safe stars. I'm looking at a reef safe 'marble' star.

You'll be fine. I've kept the two (stars and crabs) together several times... The stars havent made it more than 6 months until my miraculous sump surviving red linkia... but still.
