So in the midst of my tank moves a couple months ago - I managed to really stress out one of our starfish. To the point that he started melting away and over the course of a couple days dropped 3 arms. I really thought there was very little hope since we had this happen once before due to a salinity swing in a smaller tank and that time the star didn't make it.
This time - I wanted to give it the best chance possible so I put it in a cycled and healthy tank with nothing else in it and just ignored him for about 2 months. I decided to check on him about 10 days ago and when I moved the rock I knew he was hiding under I noticed he was regenerating the 3 dropped arms !!
I very carefully moved him back to our 120 reef and he has been there for about 10 days. He finally was out enough that I was able to get a picture. Somewhat out of focus but clear enough that you can see his new leg growth.
I'm thinking I may have actually saved this one.
