stray voltage

I don't think that would be enough to warrant concern but could be a signal of something happening in the future (salt creep increasing and increasing the voltage possibly) .The reason I ask about the meter is the calibration could be off that much but that meter is probably on . I would search for the source and monitor it.
 
Yeah it comes in handy in my profession. Just had to learn never to lend it out the hard way:doh:
 
It is pretty much impossible to completely eliminate all of the stray voltage. I can register a small amount when the lights are on. 5 volts is fine.

I'm not sure you couldn't get that much from static . Good point!
