strings in the water coming from LR

here lately ive had a lot of little tubes coming off of my lr and it has a slimmy green strand that flows in the water. it looks as if its picking the stuff out of the water. its really making my tank look really nasty. any help would be apprecitated. ill do my best to get pictures up later on tonight.

Sounds like a Serpulid worm. More on them found here:

i read both articles but i didnt see anything on how to get rid of them. it says there good for the tank. but god there ugly:sick:

I have several in my 30 Cube. It seems they send out their "snot" trails when they detect food in the water column. I have removed them before just by using a pair of pliers and snapping off the hard shell. They came back after a while. Good luck!
