Stupid Aquacontroller Jr. Question

This is a really stupid question... forgive me!

I have the AquaController Jr. with Serial port.
I have the Neptune Systems AquaController to PC Serial Interface Cable.
The connection on the PC side of the cable is a female DB9 connector.
I have no male DB9 connector on my two year old Dell PC.
I have a female DB9 connector on the PC... it is on a video card.

I assume I need a gender changer to connect the two female DB9 connectors.

But... is the video card the proper place to connect to the PC, or do I need to purchase a new serial interface card?

You need a Serial to USB cable.

You can find those bad boys at Fry's. Probably cheaper online if you aren't in a hurry.

I'll still need a gender changer unless I can find a male DB9 on the serial to USB cable... but that will work. Off to tigerdirect.com!

I did figure out how to tap into the Serial cable to connect the ATO switch so the ACJr. controls water level... that was fun too!
