Styrofoam under tank

I thought I had read a thread on here about this before, but I can't seem to find it. I'm moving my tank from a skinny iron stand that wobbles, to a DIY one my brother and I put together. I plan on laminating 2 pieces of 1/2" plywood to make the top and am wondering about putting a sheet of pink foam insulation under it. It's only a 65, which I think has possibly saved me. I don't think the tank has been level a single day of its 10 year life. But in an effort to prevent any issues I may have been brewing, I'd like to know how many folks actually use foam. I know that all glass tank manufacturers say not to, but what say you?

If the tank has bottom trim, styrofoam is not necessary. If it is trimless, then yes.
