Any suggestions on how to clean this white substance off the rim of this tank?

I have tried using a razor blade, vinegar, dawn dish soap, baking soda and 0000 steel wool and nothing has worked.

+1 on citric acid

Mix up a 5% solution by weight, and use with paper towels. Keep towels wet with solution on the area to be cleaned. It may take some time. Wear rubber gloves 🧤 & protect eyes during use (disclaimer).

Example: 50grams citric acid + 950gms H2O
stirred well will make a liter of 5% solution.

You can flush the solution, or spread it on lawn & water it in after use. It’s good on clay soil if diluted well.

Link to Duda Diesel on Amazon for citric acid. They are in north Alabama & shipping is quick-

If all else fails, hydrochloric acid will do the job fast. It's sold at hardware stores as muriatic acid. Obviously handle with care and don't breathe the fumes (it fizzes on contact with calcium deposits).

Might be permanently stained if glass was poorly made. Quality control doesn’t always catch it but aquarium glass can be super porous and with salt water minerals it can get etched in
