I have a 220 gallon tank with a 30 gallon aprox sump. This system is also running a mag 7 for the external flow and a pretty large overflow box. Sorry for not having the correct specs I purchased these used from a fellow member. Anyway everything seems to be running great except my return flow. The water level in this chamber is extremely low and loud. Prior to purchase people have recommended that I would I need a bigger pump...Now I think I need a smaller one. Is there anything I can do to eliminate this situation.

If the water level on the return section is too low, then you either need more water or your pump it too strong for your overflow. if it's the later, you can add a gate valve to the pump and throttle it back a bit, until the output matches that of the overflow.
