sump question

i have a 30 long that has been made into a sump.. well i dont know how to set it up nder the tank.. it has 3 sec in it two are about the same size and one on the end is about 5 inches so what do i do im guess the smallest is for the return.. but where do i put my skimmer. and whats the other space for??

It's your sump so u can put it where u like. But most put the skimmer and drain in slot 1 and fuge in slot 2 and return pump in the 3rd slot normally the smallest.

Some split the returns and feed each end ps and fuge and return in the middle. Options are endless
