I built my sump it started out as a 20g breeder it's not to hard just some baffles and some reef safe silicon.

Any chance I can get a pic of how you set it up. I have a 150 gallon so I'm trying to figure out how big I should build the sump.

The larger the tank the better. Depends on how much room you have under your tank. When my 90 was up and running I had a 40 breeder under the stand.

The 60 cube I am working on now will have a 29g DIY sump under the stand.

Can get a pic tomorrow. In a sump bigger is better. First question is how much room do you have?

55g would work its 1 third of the tank size of the display. Now the hard part figuring out the baffles I will get you a pic tomorrow.

I'm thinking of fitting a 55 under my stand

Fwiw, I like the footprint of a 40 breeder better than a 55, which is really a show tank, so not as much bottom area. That being said, if you have a 55 or can get it cheap then use what you have and make it work. Do some homework so you don’t have to do it over.
