I am wondering what are the best inverts to use as a clean up crew. I have some diatoms and slime algea. Plus I think I might have some red turf algea as well in a few spots.

I have heard that urchins and cucumbers are great for this. But I wanted to get a few opinions. Im also looking for a couple sandsifters starfish.

Don't do the stars. They tend to eat anything benefitial living in the sand.
Urchins may/may not be bulldozers. Gotta love a cuc though.
As far as snails and a few hermits get on ebay. CHEAP!
One thing I would change on my cleanup would be very few hermits and mostly snails instead of the other way around

^^ Yes, we started with half and half a while back in the 29G, but the crabs eat the snails if there isn't anything else to eat..

Stomatella snails!
Invisible during the day - and a killer algae hunter at night.

True they are ninja's. You can probably find a seller with it ll on the bay. That's what I did for my tank and the one at work. Mine has more hermits and I basically fed them ceriths and nassarius, but the one at work has a nice 80/20 mix

Hermits never worked for me - they stole the food from my corals...

I think Im going to add a cucumber and some snails to the mix. I might even add an tuxedo urchin. Maybe like 25 snails astrias and a few turbo.
