So I was digging a plug out of my rock work and bumped a Hollywood stunner chalice rite on the edge where it grew off the plug with my tweezers chipping the rim and knocked it loos from the plug.
I pulled it out and glued it to a new non recycled plug with the same glue I always use.
A few 2-3 hours later there is a nickel size spot that completely lost all color bare white is this from the glue on the back side ?
I know in time it will repair itself but I'm baffled on how it was injured , it happened so fast similar to a bad acro sting but it was never in contact with another coral to my knowledge.

Don't think it's the super glue. I glued my HS directly to rocks and they were fine.

Yea that's what I was thinking , iv glued so many things without ill effect but I don't have a clue on what happened to stunner chalice.

I used super glue for everyone of my frags and I've never experience any issues.

Just a general observation I noticed, I believe sometimes super glue will cause a bacterial infection. it usually happens on very small Acropora frags, and I could be completely wrong. work related observations...

Idk. I had the exact same thing happen with the exact chalice. Ended up dying. Just wrote it off.

Ive done that in the past, you put a little too much weight on the flesh of the coral, you can feel the skeleton kinda crumble under your finger a little bit, then the coral bleaches out or dies in a circle where your finger was pushing.

I tried to take special care not to do that using tweezers , but who knows

If by chance that piece dies and you want more let me know. I consider it a weed in my tank at this point lol! I throw some away on a regular basis.

Thankyou that is an awfully kind offer in the event things go south ill definitely take you up on that.
The dead area spread a little to the edge closest to it but still has 5 eyes that appear healthy today so we will see in time.

Why throw any coral away? One man's trash is another's treasure... there's always someone who would take a free frag... or trade. No disrespect, but these are live animals and it just seems very wasteful.

To a certain extent I agree. However, as much as I know corals are live animals to me they're plants. I trim my hedges, I trim my hollywood stunner chalice. And let's be honest, while most of us obviously are animal lovers that doesn't stop us from killing pests trying to enter our home. HS has become a pest. Just like majano's are pests and everyone knows it's ok to squirt boiling water on those right? I have given away several frags, just like I offered to give the OP a frag if his dies, but I'm not going to always take the time or effort to give away frags. Sometimes I just break em off and chuck em.

And after fighting kenya tree saplings for 2 years I'd never willingly give someone a frag of it. Unless I disliked them. Friends don't give friends kenya trees.
